LightingOctavius from the Atlantic Sea
A Visit with Robert Fulton
Robert Fulton was an artist, engineer, inventor, and friend of Benjamin Franklin. It was his incredible mind that conceived of the idea of the ‘submarine.” In 1800’s, he built an early prototype of the submarine he christened the Nautilus. Though it was 70 years prior to Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, many think Fulton’s vision fed the inspiration for the book. Here is an account of one of my adventures with Fulton in the Nautilus.
